Lukhanji FM, located in Queenstown on the Eastern Cape, became the first station in South Africa to install the new Wheatstone E-1 control surface and ip-88 series digital blades. In a project partially financed by MDDA, the station upgraded their On-Air studio to a fully digital solution, which also includes the WheatNet-IP audio driver and automation from RCS.
Consultant Matt Buck of Buck Broadcast recently described the project on his blog, noting that the station had been "struggling along with basic broadcast equipment and lots of determination" in the days preceding the full digital upgrade.
